Raney Branch is an Atlanta native and graduate of Emory University - where she majored in environmental studies, minored in Arabic and performed musical theater for creating social change. Since 2013, Raney has appeared on Grey’s Anatomy, The Mindy Project, The Fosters, The Haunted Hathaways, House of Payne, Grandfathered and See Dad Run. In 2014, Raney recurred as the French Creole witch Celeste DuBoise on the first season of CW’s The Originals. She guest starred opposite Damon Wayans, Jr. as his feisty sister on season four of FOX’s New Girl. In 2016, Raney landed her first starring role in the TV One movie, Ringside, playing opposite Tyler Lepley and Allen Maldonaldo. That same year, she booked a recurring guest star role on FOX’s Bones, playing opposite Tamara Taylor. In 2017 Raney starred opposite Gabrielle Union in an 8 episode arc as the young but wise publicist Aaliyah Luckett on BET’s Being Mary Jane. In 2019, Raney stars as Jane Bennet in Lifetime’s Pride & Prejudice Atlanta - a modern day adaptation of the beloved Jane Austen classic. She also currently stars as Ava in the award-winning web series Black Girls Guide to Fertility, written by playwright Sonhara Eastman and directed by award-winning director Crystle C. Roberson.
